World Premiere of Luka Ritz Documentary

'I don't know where I'm going, but when I die, I'd like to be cremated and put in a nice ashtray', wrote Luka Ritz about his search for the meaning of life when he was 14. Probably not even in his wildest dreams did he think it could happen so soon. And yet, it did.

Less than four years later. His beating and subsequent death in 2008 and the months-long search for the perpetrators moved Croatian public and gave momentum to a strong civil campaign against juvenile violence. Director Miroslav Sikavica had an opportunity to witness and film the intimate side of the Luka Ritz story that was taking place far from the public eye.

This is how 'Cloud' was made. It is a documentary about the tragic loss of a single son, best friend and boyfriend. The film follows Luka's loved ones within a year after his death and tells us about the importance and necessity of citizens' solidarity and activism in today's society.

Miroslav Sikavica is a film and TV director who has made numerous short documentary films. This is his first feature-length documentary.

The world premiere of 'Cloud' will be tonight, Thursday, at 9pm in Tuškanac Cinema. You will have a chance to see this distressing story again, on Friday at 9pm in Dokukino and on Sunday at 2pm in Tuškanac.
